Massage In Pregnancy

For many years I have been making a range of aromatherapy, all-natural, vegan massage balms. Not only are they used by osteopaths, reflexologists and massage therapists, but also anyone who wants to moisturise their skin and reap the benefits of these delectable therapeutic balms.

Anyone who's ever had a professional massage knows that both body and mind feel better afterwards. The same goes for both prenatal and postnatal massage.

Prenatal massages

Prenatal massages are adapted for the anatomical changes you go through during pregnancy. As your shape and posture change, a trained massage therapist will make adjustments with special cushioning or holes that allow you to lie face down safely, while providing room for your growing body. Alternatively, you might lie on our side with the support of pillows and cushions.

During pregnancy, aromatherapy and massage can be used to relieve some of the issues such as muscular aches, swollen ankles, headaches, morning sickness, fatigue, and insomnia. Emotional states such as anxiety and stress can also be eased with the use of essential oils. There are certain essential oils that should not be used during pregnancy and that is why it is so important to buy from a professional aromatherapist who has expert knowledge in this field.

Prenatal massages are generally considered safe after the first trimester. You should always get the green light from your doctor and find an experienced, insured therapist who specialises in prenatal massage.

A long term massage balm customer of mine is massage therapist Claire Cannie of Light Touch Massage Therapy. Claire specialises in pre and postnatal massage. Recently Claire and I collaborated to produce a range of pre and postnatal aromatherapy massage balms that she uses on her clients. They are also available to purchase for home use.

"In my career as a massage therapist I have used many different massage balms and oils. Non quite compare to that of Oleo.

The balm texture is so easy to work with and massages well into my client's skin, and they smell absolutely incredible! I have had clients come back to me requesting that I use "That amazing smelling balm!"

Specialising in pre and postnatal massage therapy, it is important to have the balms smelling and feeling just right and Oleo never disappoints!

I wouldn't go anywhere else!"
